I'm sorry you are frustrated about all this.

The free Acrobat Reader allows you to rotate (use the view menu, second to
last item entry on the version I have) and scale the image (as Allen
indicated in his email). You can print it in colour (if you have a colour
printer and wish to print it in colour) or monochrome (on a monochrome or a
colour printer). Elecraft makes all manuals available on the website to
provide maximum flexibility and accessibility for customers as well as the
merely curious.
The size of the manual is an Elecraft standard format.

The colors are the defaults used in my schematic capture program, and I
personally find them quite useful :-)

In any event, to make it easier for you, I just posted the full-size
schematics on my personal website. They are in colour, but if you wish to
print them out, you can probably tell your printer to print in monochrome.
All the printers here can easily do this. How to accomplish this is left as
an exercise for the reader...
