Bill -
I would be glad to put a small quantity of Tin/Copper solder in a Jiffy 
bag for you if you want to try it.  I have used it and it is fine. I 
used it when I built my KDSP2 with no problems at all.  I found that 
using a slightly higher temperature than for the lead/tin was best. The 
1mm solder is 97.3% tin and 0.7% copper.  When I bought it "on offer" it 
was 5ukp for 500 grams.
