Hi All,
#3725 is alive and well - well, except for a warble.
Alignment was easily accomplished, thanks to Tom N0SS's guidance using
Spectrogram.
However, when listening to signals I noticed that the granularity expected
when tuning at the 1 kHz rate - at the encoder's transition points, was
accompanied by a slight chirp as though there was some delay while the PLL
locked. Even with the tuning rate set at 10 Hz, the transition point chirp was
evident. The condition was most evident when operating the RIT
control.
When monitoring the transmission from #3725, (with K2 #767) the note has a
distinctive warble, that would stand out in a pile-up - RST 597, perhaps.
The only reference to a TX warble that I recall involved strong AC fields from
adjacent power transformers - my supply is 3 feet from the transceiver and
the other K2 on the same 13.8vdc line is not affected.
In all other respects, this new K2 is operating normally.
As usual, grateful for being pointed in the right direction.
