As a long time Heathkit builder, I agree! The expereince has been
bettered ESPECIALLY by point #3. Updates to keep the product always on
the cutting edge, as best it can be.
THIS is why Elecraft stands head and shoulders above the rest. You
built a Heathkit - you had a darned good piece of equipment. But once
you built it, that was that. Maybe updates are a product of the
Internet and increased communications between builder and kit offerer
(?), maybe not. But Wayne and Eric make sure the product that is out
there can stand along with the later models (should the builder choose
to do so). I really, really like that!
