volts on U4 pin 1 while in TUNE with 5W.  I get 0.85 volts.  All the 
components appear to be good.  I've rewound T1 until perfection was

Hi Tom,

I believe you have done what many of us have done previously because the
instructions are misleading. The illustration on page 7 shows a resistor
installed and the preceding text refers to R6, but it should not be
installed until much later.

Lift one end of R6 and do the test. If all is OK (3-4 volts), solder R6
again. The fifth step on page 17 is the one that actually tells you to
install this resistor.

I described this problem many months back, but apparently the KAT2
instructions have not been clarified yet.
