Ooh! Switches? *And* coals? Hmm. Let's see. What sort of resistors do
coals make? Spect not too good for a lot of power, but we's hams, by
golly, and we can make do with switches...and coals. Heck, you take
some of them switches apart, maybe you'll e lucky enough to get some
wire and all manner of things. Granted, not much, but every little bit
helps, eh? 

Maybe one of them coals will have the right resistance for that KX1
power problem.
