Rich,
You may have nothing worng - it all depends...
First, the current draw with a full set of options will be higher than the
current the manual states - for this check, the manual assumes only the base
K2.
Secondly, the actual transmit current depends on the voltage applied. The
K2 will draw current trying to produce the power you have requested, so if
you power supply voltage is on the low side, more current will be drawn. I
believe the manual is close to correct for a nominal base K2 with a 13.8
volt supply.
Remove all the options and try it with a 13 to 14 volt supply and see what
the current draw is under those conditions.
