[Elecraft] K2 keying bandwith reduction -- update

N0SS commented that despite quite a bit of time with his K2, he hadn't
gotten any reports of key clicks.

I used my FT-1000MP on CW for over three years and never got a report of
key clicks with it, either.  When the MP's key clicks became known via
e-mail reflectors, I checked mine for clicks and, sure enough, it had bad
clicks up to +/- 2.5 kHz of the transmitted signal.  Within a short time
of finding this out, I installed the W8JI key click mod and the rig is
clean now.

All unmodified MPs are now known to be notorious for clicks, but I was
unaware of mine for several years because nobody complained.

The moral of the story is: Don't assume that your K2 is clean because
nobody has complained.

My K2 has clicks +/- 1.5 kHz, which is bad, but nobody has yet
complained.  I'm eager to do the new mod that Wayne has worked up so that
I can operate CW with the K2 and know that I'm not bothering others on
the air.
