It's fun when that happens, and the last few days and this weekend is
among the hottest ones during the year. There are plenty of chances with
stations testing their equipment for the CQ WWW CW contest tomorrow!!

Yes, that's a good idea, I like it better than a relay, because a relay
has to be energized whenever the radio is on - using unnecessary
current.

Two LM380's are also better than replacing the whole audio amplifier.
There is still the problem with the loudspeaker connector, that one side
is no longer grounded, but I'm sure that can be handled in some way. Let
us know if you come up with something.
