[Elecraft] I need a mic recommendation for K2 and FT-817

Michael :

For my FT-817 I replaced the stock Mic element with Heil HC-4 and HC-5 
elements
(selectable via the rear switch on the Yaesu Mic). The HC-4 gives some
extra oomph on HF and the HC-5 works very well on FM. By keeping the
stock Mic and just replacing the elements you don't loose the additional
functionality included in the mic (ie the up/down buttons). This is 
documented
in a web page by  M0AWS.

If you want  a MIC to work with both the K2 and FT-817 then perhaps
you should look at the Heil Dual Element HMM which would also give
you both HC-4 and HC-5 elements and it should be easy to switch between
rigs using Heil's adaptor system.
