Don't understand this one as you are in the listening mode when the other
station sends "?". You don't need QSK for that.

Nobody can copy code while sending code. You just have to hear enough to
stop sending.
Totally agree. But to hear the other person is sending between elements as
compared to hearing between letters as compared to hearing between words,
reduces just a little more the QRM, wear and tear on your fingers.
