[Elecraft] K2 noise blanker, phones?

Hi folks. Two questions from a raw beginner: I'll be building my first =
basic K2 over the holidays. I'm concerned about power line noise from a =
transformer right outside my window. Is the noise blanker the answer to =
this, and does it degrade the receiver performance in any way when not =
engaged? Secondly, any recommendations on a really good set of =
headphones for the K2. I've got a high frequency hearing loss, and much =
prefer phones to speakers.
