Beside firmware, which might destroy QSK operation as we know/enjoy it,
there are other options:
1. The AL-1200 is 'famous' for its slow, clunky relay. You can speed up the
relay by adding additional circuitry:

This also applies to the AL-1500, and many other amps with slow relays. The
circuit may be built inside the amp to keep things uncluttered (that's what
I have done with a 1200 and a 1500).
2. The KRC-2 box supposedly has a MODE output. With this output, you can
build logic that will allow better integration into a contesting station
that requires/uses a PTT signal.
