[Elecraft] Birdie

Martin,

Listening closely, I hear something in the vicinity - mine tunes around the
7014.78 area, and yes it shifts with changes in the filter selection. It is
not a clear note, but quite 'raspy' and very sharp to tune. Also it is a
higher order harmonic likely beating with some harmonic of the BFO, because
the 'note' changes pitch in reverse of normal signals - and the pitch
changes several hundred Hz when the K2 VFO is changed by only 10 Hz. This
one is way down in signal strength - I had to run both the RF and AF gain
controls way up before I could hear it - it will not be any problem for me.

Since it is near a 5 kHz boundary along with its 'raspy' tone, I would
expect it to be some artifact of the PLL.

73,
Don
