[Elecraft] KPA100 heatsink temperature

Using the formula in the manual, I came out to about 19-deg C. Just as an
added measure of protection, I had the optional Fan from tentec from the
Orion I kept. I fits nicely onto the fins of the k2/100 heat sink. I put a
switch in line to the power supply and it work fine. Don't use it for SSB
but I do for long cw qsos and for any digital modes.

Subject: [Elecraft] KPA100 heatsink temperature

My apologies if this has been discussed before.

Since I have no basis to compare, can anybody tell me what heatsink temps
they are reading while using the KPA100? I have the K2 twins set up and I
am seeing the K2 CAL TPA read up to 45 deg C while in a cw rag chew at about
70 watts of power, low swr (1.2). The surface of the heat sink feels very
warm at this point. The fan seems to switch to high somewher aroud 38-40deg
C.

Thanks de Ed KG4ARN K2 #3212
