Aside from capacity and weight, other advantages of Lithium batteries are:

o The have incredible shelf life.  You truly can use them today and then 
again in six months with no disadvantage

o They are reall good for cold weather ops.

I'm a big fan of NiMH cells (own a bunch).  But I use Li cells in many 
cases.
