So, does the KX1 "power on" switch protrude?  or is it recessed?  I can't 
tell from the photos.... and presumably a recessed switch would be more 
difficult to accidentally get bumped on in a pack... yet harder to turn on 
when you don't care about a pack....

Engineering:  the art of assembling a bunch of conflicting requirements 
into a product that's usable enough that the conflicts and trade-offs are 
soon forgotten.

Also, no comments on the final design?  Is it robust enough to withstand 
full power transmit into no load (open)?  how 'bout a short?

I carry the KX1 around in a fanny pack and have never had it turn on
accidentally, but in a backpack it could. We're considering offering a
