[Elecraft] KX1 as SWL Receiver

I wonder if anyone has really tested it in this mode.

When traveling I always take a small consumer-type SWL receiver for 
listening on 49, 31 and sometimes 25 meters in the evening and early 
morning.

How does the KX1 stack up against this type of receiver?  And what sort 
of battery life would be expected in a receive-only mode (I'm often in 
urban hotels where an outdoor TX antenna is not practical but I get good 
SWBC reception on an 8-10 ft wire.

With the KX1, could I leave my SWL reciever at home (likely would not, 
due to MW and LW BC.  But I could leave the inevitable backup at home :-)
