Some may remember that several weeks ago I made a
posting basically trashing Ameritron/MFJ in general and
the Ameritron ALS-600 in particular, based on the poor
performance of the T/R relay.

Well THAT relay still doesn't work any better but I broke
down and purchased the Ameritron QSK-5 2.5 KW pin diode
T/R switch, and what a slick little box that is! What it does is
force the T/R relay in the amp into the tx state and route the
switching to the external box. By shorting one of its "key"
inputs you can prevent the amp relay from doing any switching
other than initially turning it on.

Full QSK at QRO (well, semi-QRO) is nifty.
