What it is saying is that you won't find it on the either of those =
boards,
but it is needed in the circuit, Jay.=20

The need for it was discovered after the boards were made, so there is =
no
position with two solder pads and a reference designator to be found for =
R32
on the pc board.

A photograph shows one of the two possible locations for the resistor on
page 42. The step on the top of the left column of Page 42 that you =
mentions
refers to the photo directly below it. The resistor is soldered across =
two
of the solder pads on U4 as shown in the photo. It has NO solder pads of
it's own, like the other parts do. I had no trouble doing that exactly =
as
Wayne designed it. Someone suggested that it was easier to solder it =
across
the pads for C19 which would work just the same. C19 is across the same =
two
pins of U4.=20

Either way is fine!=20

There is another added component that is soldered across pins for =
another
component as well. It's on page 34, right hand column, and also has a =
photo
showing the proper installation.=20

In future rev's of the PC board, there should be spaces for these parts,
just like all the rest, if Wayne can find a bit of room left for them
somewhere!=20

Sorry for the confusion. Sometimes a decision to cut the length of a
sentence a bit backfires when it leaves someone like yourself scratching =
his
head and wondering, "...just WHAT do they mean???"=20

Thanks for the inputs. They're valuable for the next Rev of the manual.=20

On Behalf Of Jay Blass
...Question from KX1 Manual Rev B on page 42 referencing the R42 =
resistor.

"Your kit includes an extra 22 k resistor (red-red-orange) foruse at =
R32.
This resistor is not present on the Revision B or B1 PC boards. It must =
be
soldered in place in the location shown below,on the bottom of the board
between pins 2 and 3 of U4 (LM386N). (It could also be soldered across =
the
pins of C19, nearby, whichmay be easier.) Trim and bend the leads
approximately as shown."

The second sentence confuses me. I don't understand the meaning of "This
resistor is not present on the Rev B or B1 PC boards..." followed
immediately by the admonition that "it must be soldered in place..." The
resistor also shows up in the Rev B schematic...

Do the currently shipping boards require this little puppy or not? What
revision are we up to on the PC boards?

Thanks for the help,

Jay
