That's a great report Bill, especially since it's your FIRST Elecraft =
kit.
Several of us working on the early versions wondered whether things were
getting a bit "tight" in there for first-builders. It is the most
densely-populated board Elecraft has come up with so far I believe. If =
you
go on to build other Elecraft gear you'll feel like you moved out of an =
RV
and into a mansion <G>=20
The real "problem" with the KX1 is that operating it is addictive. I =
know my
K2/100 is sitting there ready to blow a hole in the ionosphere, but the =
cute
little KX1 that takes up less space than my old "Bug" is just to =
seductive
not to play with for one more QSO...
The real addicts have started taking the darn thing to bed with them =
using a
bit of wire stapled to the ceiling, so I guess I can claim that I'm not
among the worst (or is it the 'best'?) of the addicts.=20

Just a note to say how impressed I am with the KX1, my first Elecraft =
kit,
from start to finish. The quality and features certainly raise the bar =
for
hand held QRP design in the future. Thanks to ND6T in Weaverville for my
first QSO minutes ago. The adjustable audio filter helped get through =
the
7040 Khz QRM.
