[Elecraft] KSB2 Modifications

Mike,

I have done all of the KI6WX mod's for the KSB2, except for the "2nd 
Xtal Filter Flatness Modification", since my K2, SN: 3039 already 
included it. I opted for the 2.5K bandwidth, and have been very pleased 
with the results. Lately, I've been using an old ICOM hand microphone, 
model HM-12 from my old ICOM-728, and have been receiving many 
unsolicited favorable comments on the audio quality.

I'd still like to get the Heil HC5 element to work properly, but it's 
output is too low. I'm sure that a simple microphone preamp would 
probably be all that is needed; just need to build something up. 
Actually - I've always thought that an Elecraft microphone preamp option 
would be a good idea for a new product!  Eric... Wayne... ?  I'll 
volunteer to field test it.
