Hi!
As mentioned before the tipmass is important.
If you like to be on the safe side when soldering components with more =
than 2 legs it would be wise to let them rest a couple of seconds.
As excample: A 16 pin ic ...
Start to solder one pin in a corner and then diagonally to opposite =
corner.
Let that ic rest while you take another component or just wait.
In that way there is no overheating.
And if static is blown out of the way , there should be no problem.
