I realise this is OT so apologies in advance but I'm desperate.

As some of you will know I'm currently building a TenTec 1254 as preparation
for taking on the K2.

Problem is I've hit a snag and am simply stuck so if anyone who knows the
1254 and can help I'd be grateful.

The problem is that after building the 2 VCOs (Phase 3) the calibration
steps for the VCOs are to adjust the voltage of the VCO that handles 100KHz
to 13.3MHz so that a particular voltage reads 2.5V at 100KHz. Problem is no
matter how I adjust the coil (L3) in the VCO the voltage sticks at 8.8v. (I
can successfully adjust the other VCO, that handles the input RF from
13.25GHz to 30GigHz.) I've checked all the components are right, and the
solder joints look fine.
