"" Piero Begali, I2RTF, has designed what I feel to be the ultimate iambic
paddle for portable use. I had some influence on the design and had an
opportunity to try a prototype for several weeks. It is a compact folding
design that expands to provide stability. It is heavy enough to stay put on
a desk, but it also has provisions to strap it to your leg. It is a
magnetic iambic paddle with all the ingredients that have made Piero's keys
a legend by now. I have published a more detailed review on eHam
(http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/3342) or you can also go to Piero's
website for more details: http://www.i2rtf.com. These paddles are not
inexpensive, but if you want the very best they are without peers. ""
I ordered a Begali iambic paddle a month ago and so far have had a poor
experience with the order. It took over a week and many e-mail attempts to
get confirmation of the order. It seems that his ISP is blocked by many
providers such as Earthlink, AOL, etc, because it has been a spam source. He
finally responded to one of my messages sent from work. In it he confirmed
the order and said that the key would be shipped by the end of that week.
That was three weeks ago, and the key has not yet shipped. (My ATM/Visa card
has not yet been charged.) Messages from my work account have gone
unanswered, though it is possible that his messages are now blocked on that
server as well. One consequence of this delay is that the cost of the key
has gone up substantially in the last month because of the decline of the
dollar against the euro.
So, if you order a Begali key, you must be prepared to be patient and to
experience much anxiety if your ISP is one of those who blocks his mail!
Still patient,
