[Elecraft] K2 A to B mods parts removal - solder popper

Guys, cut me a little slack here! I was only trying to help
a couple of others who seemed to have trouble understanding
how to pull the thing apart. I read the instructions:
"Periodically clean the pump by taking it out and unscrewing
the bottom cover". The picture shows the top of the pump
coming out first, but no details about what holds the pump
in place or how to release it. At least when new, the fit
is very tight and I also was a little timid in prying the
thing apart for fear of breaking some plastic.

There is, however, one remaining point of confusion that you
might be able to help me with. The "very clear
instructions" begin with "Plug in AC line cord" but at no
point is there an instruction to unplug the device. I
haven't had much formal education in electronics, so perhaps
you can offer an opinon on whether or not the unit will last
longer if I unplug it between uses or if in fact it might
even be damaged if I attempt to unplug it at some time in
the future. :)
