Eric is right. This important issue is best discussed elsewhere than 
on this list.

Before US amateurs make their comments they may be interested to read 
a report on the RSGB EMC Committee site at 
http://www.qsl.net/rsgb_emc into tests during trials in Perthshire 
into proposed UK PLT schemes. The report is covered in June RadCom 
which arrived today and makes grim reading. It is reported that 
interference on 3.5MHz and 7MHz was 'severe', also one of the schemes 
uses a 4.8MHz centre frequency and effectively makes our 60m 
allocation unusable.

Like in the US, in Europe it seems this whole issue is pressurised by 
politics and they seem hell bent on introducing it regardless.
