I have this key, too (two in fact). It is the key I use with my 
NorCAL40A, when I use that rig.

I am pretty sure it is made from white metal. I had three, but one 
dropped and it sure didn't look like cast iron :). It broke pretty 
easily.

Anyway, it is a great key. Oh and once in a while I'll hook it to the 
K2 for fun.
