These guys worked a little harder than the post makes it sound (and that's pretty hard). Longs Peak is actually 14,255 feet elevation. The trail from the road to the top is about 8 1/2 miles long and has an elevation gain of just over 5,000 feet. The last time I climbed it, it took almost exactly 12 hours round trip. That included about 30 minutes enjoying the view from the top. No, I didn't lug my TS-850 along, but now that K2 s/n 3412 is up and running I'll be taking it to the top of any "14ers" I climb this summer. Hope to contact many of you from the summit(s).
