Just an example. This is a copy of my filing for Docket - 03-104:

Commissioners:

I urge you NOT to allow the power companies to provide broadband internet
services over power lines.

As an amateur radio operator, I face more than my fair share of
interference as it stands. I am a QRP enthusiast which is to say that I
make every attempt to contact other amateur radio operators world-wide
using as little effective radiated power as possible. To qualify for most
QRP events this would mean power levels of 5 watts or less. Many times,
it takes patience, experience, a VERY low noise receiver and a lot of luck
to pull a QRP signal out of the air in the face of the ever growing number
of interference sources. QRP operations not only test the ability of the
operator and equipment but also provide real world experience in
establishing communications in less than desirable conditions -
IE; emergency communications.

The power companies have already shown their inability to maintain the
grid sufficient to prevent interference with amateur radio operators thus
far if the number of reported power line interference complaints is any
indication. Please do not allow them to exasperate the situation by
introducing more factors to the equation.

Sincerely,

John Fraizer
Amateur Radio Operator K4WTF
