Folks,

The standard "unix" signature format will trigger some mail SOFTWARE (IE,
the program you use to send/receive email) to delete the signature of the
message you are replying to.  The *server* on the otherhand is designed to
simply transfer messages from user to user and a properly implemented
server will not alter (SPAM/VIRUS traps aside) the contents of the
message beyond appending its information to the SMTP headers.
