[Elecraft] K1 in the CQ WW WPX Contest.

Good Day,

I took some time off this weekend and jumped into the WPX contest.
I retuned my vertical to spread the swr curve up to about 7.040. It works
much better now. I stayed on 40 meters only and was up most of Friday
into Saturday. About 3:30 am local there was mostly US stations calling
so I went to bed for a few hours. Back up at 5:15 EST to work Oceania.
A lot of countries on Friday night didn't show up again on Saturday night.
I was able to work quite a bit of DX and had a lot of fun. I was able to
work 8 new countries on 40 meters. My total is now 67 worked and
QSLs are coming in every day now.

Is DXCC possible with a K1 and a vertical on 40? I'm trying not to take
it too seriously, but I have found it frustrating when a new country slips
away. I started out to work all continents and it seems to keep going now.
I did complete WAC recently on 40 meters with my K1. Now it is just
for fun.

I must stop all this playing around and start thinking about a K2.
