My k1 returns to the original vfo frequency. The frequency does not move
when the rit is turned off

Paul,

I've never noticed it on my old K1 (SN 175), nor have I heard
any reports of a similar problem on this list.  If you have the
150 kHz VFO option (I do), a very small hit of the main VFO
knob while in RIT mode would have similar results.  I suppose
you're sure that that is NOT occurring.

Does it happen ALL the time, every time?  I'd check solder
connections on RF board C7, D4, RP2(7-8), C4, P1 pin 4, and
Front Panel board J1 pin 4, R3, R4, R5, Q2.
