Hi Guys,

Keep in mind in any comparison with the K2 and Orion,
that the K2 can run in pure analog mode, or DSP
enhanced. The Orion must use it's DSP 100% of the
time. The DSP math is trying it's best to approximate
pure analog before reducing the noise, etc. I'd take
any comparative specs with a grain of salt, like
comparing apples to oranges.

The thing that's great about Elecraft, Eric, and Wayne
is that no matter what the issue is, they stand up and
tell it like it is. Now I just spent a week trying to
convince the TT guys that they should correct the
"rushed out the door" appearance of their screen
formatting on that new Orion, but "looks fine to me",
and "what are you talking about?" was the response. At
this point I'm taking that as an indicator of their
perspective on any input the factory considers
negative (or trivial) including the DSP. The great
numbers became completely meaningless here, what about
the rest of the radio?

But the numbers have people comparing their radio to
the K2 and every other current top shelf rig so in the
short term maybe it was not such a bad idea. ;-)
