[Elecraft] Orion vs K2

Let's suppose for a moment that the Orion IS 
superior to the K2.  Wouldn't you expect that
to eventually happen, given that TT has a STAFF
of engineers, not just two, and given that TT
and others (such as Kantronics) have big government
contracts for their military products?  I would 
think that if a company is working 90% of its time
on government items that the work should spill over
to the ham market at some point.  I'm not knocking
the military, the companies or even the war, 
just saying that a couple of west coast techie dudes
in an outdated VW camper at the top of a mountain
may form a superior religion but they probably won't
beat out big military money in the long run.
