That's what they all do, internal or external (i.e., in the rig or 
sitting next to it and connected by a short piece of coax).

One could argue that placing the tuner at the antenna changes things .. 
but that is a whole different thing (remote control of the tuner, 
weather-proofing .. and then paying close attention to what connects the 
rig to the tuner -- usually a long coax run).
