[Elecraft] Swapping K2 tops

Hi

I'm about to start building K2 #2814/3290.  [Yes, that's one K2 with "double
personality
syndrome".  I'm one of the (relatively few?) who have an unbuilt pre #3000
K2 plus the
K2BCOMPKT "K2 Rev B Component Upgrade Kit" which includes new Rev B PC
boards
and the parts needed to construct an UNBUILT Rev A (S/N<3000) K2 as a Rev B
K2.]

I'm considering building it as a K2/100.  If I build the KPA100 + KAT100-2
in an EC2
Enclosure, I can keep the QRP K2 ready for field action with its
Battery/KIO2 and KAT2 in
its original top.  This is standard practice, and is well documented on the
list.

What I have not seen addressed is this:  How easy is it to take the KPA100
top out of the
EC2 and put it in place of the standard K2 top, as and when needed (i.e. for
a Hotel trip with
AC power available), and then switched back to the EC2 again, upon return?

1. From what I can see this should be both doable and useful.  Am I right?

2. Can the original QRP K2 top be easily "placed" (i.e. stored, not
functional, of course) in
the top of the EC2 while the KPA100 is doing duty in the K2?

Any comment would be appreciated.
