[Elecraft] How to tell if the PCB pad is bad

Hi gang,

While taking out a chip, I used a solder braid. On one of the pads there 
is a small dent now where the hole is.  The pad is still there and there 
is continuity from the bottom of the board to the top.  My question is, 
does this ruin the board?  I know in some boards you can have multiple 
layers of traces.  If the circuit board material melts a little between 
the pads, does this ruin the board on the K2? I think there are only 
traces on the top and bottom of the K2 boards and none in between.

BTW, I bought one of the spring loaded desoldering tools yesterday.  And 
I will also clip this chip out and get a new one (my earlier emails 
about the chip being bad).
