In my never ending quest to provide better lightning protection for my
station, I have a question for the group:
I use a remote coax switch so that I can run one run of high grade coax
from the shack out to the back yard and then connect multiple feedlines to
that switch. It saves money on coax and also reduces the mess and expense
of having multiple runs of coax running into the shack.
In rebuilding my station, I will have polyphasers on both ends of this
single coax run (at the shack entrance and at the coax switch
outside). The coax-switch shunts all ports to ground when it is powered
off and shunts all unused ports to ground when it is energized.
Since the coax switch will be bonded to ground and it's coax feed into the
shack will have polyphasers at both ends, is there any point in putting
individual polyphasers on coax INPUTS to the coax switch besides just
giving more money to polyphaser?
