You are correct. I suppose that in my haste, I neglected to properly
articulate what I meant to say which is:

"It would be nice if the ARRL would make the information EASILLY
available." Seriously. Do you realize that the lightning protection
article is burried on the third page of the search results if you search
from the http://www.arrl.org/ main page?

Additionally, I couldn't find *anything* related to proper grounding or
lightning protection in the 2002 ARRL Handbook! IE; diagrams of proper vs
inproper station grounding, etc. It is nice that we have the League and,
it is nice that they provide group insurance for your equipment. What
would be better is if they actually made a concerted effort (IE; a direct
hyperlink from "Getting started in Amateur Radio" or whatnot.

I must say that while I continue to support the League, I am dissappointed
with the fact that they fail to provide the BASIC information required for
safe and proper operation in a more easilly found format.

While my particular lightning strike damage was a result of my failing to
unplug a wall-wart that I had forgotten about, had the information that I
have since found been prominantly displayed or presented by the League, I
would have taken steps that would have MORE THAN mitigated the fact that
the wall-wart was plugged in.
