What I did was just bring everything for my shack through the plate, not
the whole house. Everything on the side of the room that contains my
shack goes through the plate. My shop equipment, on the other side of
the room, is connected to the normal house wiring.
This protects my radio gear, but obviously does not protect the
computers, phone system, etc. in another room, which are exposed to
potential differences between the phone lines and the ac line ground.
I would like to have done the whole house, but it would have been
outrageously expensive.
