[Elecraft] Suggestions for sealing the MoJo in the K2 (lightning protection)

The only good protection is to disconnect all antennas and ground outside
the shack, or provide arrestors out there.

I remove the feedlines from the rigs and switches and reconnect only when I
am going to operate. I even move them to the floor level, off the operating
desk, trying to get 3 feet or more between them and the rig. However even
this will not be fool proof.

Consider that a lightning direct strike bolt that is 10 MILES LONG, is not
going to be deterred by another 3 foot gap.

Having grounded poles, towers, etc. can help divert any strike. Unplug
rigs, accessories, computers, monitors, modems, etc from phone lines, AC,
any electrical path that could be a sneak path for the side flash of the
main strike, or cause the rigs to elevate to potentials different from metal
around them thus causing a flash over.

There is just no foolproof method, but removing AC, telephone and RF
connections from the equipment table can help.
