[Elecraft] Power Poles, pigtail + small cable clamp, Q on SES Micro M+

My $0.02:

On both a K2 and an FT-817 I have successfully used a cable clamp using 
nearby screws on the case to hold an L shaped barrel connector and pigtail 
cable firmly. The pigtail cable has a PowerPole connector pair attached, 
and the back of the PowerPole connector pair is filled with glue from a 
hot glie gun to prevent breakage where solder wicked up a bit from the 
contacts into the end of the small 20ga wire pair. 

And a Q on SES Micro M+: 
I have an old Bobier (SunSelector) 8A charge controller with no external 
voltage setpoint control. I realize that this is not a good match to the 
K2 internal battery. I see the SES Micro M+ mentioned in:

? Should I set the SES Micro M+ for 14.2V for use only with a small PV 
(solar) panel charging a K2 ?
