Use the straight key on the air and practice with the paddles off air.  =
I enjoy my straight key.  Its a large, heavy one and a lot of fun.  =
Also,  its OK to use a bug now.  At home QTH, the bug is my favorite but =
I use my Palm Paddles with my K1 portable.  Much lighter.  Also, paddles =
work best when you are sitting on a log or in the car or even a small =
table in a motel room.  Unlike most, I dont use Iambic Keying.  I keep =
it as close to my bug as possible.  I think a good set of paddles would =
help or you can make them.  See the NorCal website. =20
