In case Stephen does not get a chance to reply to you I will give you my
opinion. Stephen originally identified the fact that EQP concentrated
mostly on CW and many SSB op's felt left out. He therefore decided that the
first net would be run using SSB.
HOWEVER, I believe that he also said that CW check-ins would not be
discouraged. My expectation is that you will need to use your widest filter
for best SSB performance and use XIT, RIT or SPLIT such that you listen to
the net's SSB transmissions (in CW mode) and transmit to the net in CW.
Such operations are outside my experience but I'm sure that the K2 is
perfectly capable of doing this. I'm not so sure about a K1 though.
Remember that you will need to listen to one frequency and transmit on
another such that you end up being heard in the Net-Control station's USB
pass-band as a CW signal. This could get a bit tricky for the control
operators so we will have to see how things go.
