I would keep the DC power plug Elecraft provides.  The Anderson Power Poles 
are becoming very common nowadays.  Most ARES groups are using them as the 
standard for power connectors.  West Mountain Radio markets its Rig Runner DC 
power strips that are very handy for connecting all your 12 volt DC rigs and 
accessories to one power supply or battery.  I recently installed these 
connectors on all the power cables for  my radios and shack accessories and 
the results have been very good.  Reverse polarity problems are virtually 
eliminated when using the Power Poles, and I highly recommend them.
