My suggestion would be to get the new XTALs along with the KSB2 and all A2B
mod kits needed.

Then replace the XTALs and prove nothing is wrong.  Then do the A2B stuff as
directed in the instructions and prove that you still have not damaged
anything.  Then you can build the KSB2 while still enjoying the K2 during
your breaks.  Then finish the project.

You asked for a suggestion and that is my opinion.  I hope that I don't
start too many arguments with this post;-)
