[Elecraft] Let's Go to 60 Meters (was KRC2 First!)

HEY! You can get a lot more than 5 QSO's on a 2.8 Khz channel! Especially if
everyone is "clean" and not generating spurs and 'extra sidebands'!

| Those were my thoughts last evening. They want to know what we are doing
| 'amongst them'. How many non-technical government types (FEMA/NTIA) have enough
| knowledge to set up a station to receive PSK31 or CW? I doubt that they realize
| how CW/PSK31 are superior modes with low power operation?
|
| It's sad that they didn't at least assign one 2.8 kHz sliver for CW/PSK31. We
| could have probably fit 5 QSO's in one channel (500 Hz X 5 = 2.5 kHz). It is
| also not too hard to run CW just below each USB channel (near the 'carrier'
| frequency). That would allow us to double the use on these channels.
|
| Does anyone know if these are 'channels' that the Government was already
| utilizing (i.e. it's programmed into their radios)? Are we Primary or Secondary
| on these channels?
|
| What can we do to petition the FCC on this?

|
| p.s. I guess I'm going to be ordering a KSB2 with K60XV soon ... "use'em or
| lose'em". If the early adopters can establish a level of decorum when it comes
| to frequency sharing, imagine the impact it might have on the non-hams that
| monitor us?
