Agreed that an ALC input would certainly be a useful feature to prevent overdriving an amp.  It's also beneficial during tune up of amps as it can prevent the amp protection circuit from kicking in and requiring resetting.

Another issue with using the K2  (/100) to drive and amp is that its internal ALC does not operate smoothly but in steps of about 5-10 % of full-scale power.  This means that key down,  the power will fluctuate in steps 5W to 10W or so which makes tuning up an amp very difficult.  I had to do a mod to my K2 to get it down to the 5-10% size jumps.  It was originally more like 15-20%, even when operating QRP.
