OK. So, K2/100 + KAT100 + XVTR would look something like this:
[K2/100]-+ +-----------[HF ANT]
| | |
KIO->| |<-RF |
| | |
[KAT100-(IN)---(A)-(B)]
| |
KIO->| RF->|
| |
[XVTR----(out)----(in)]
|
+----------------[VHF ANT]
Forgive my ignorance. I haven't played too much with the ANT-B option of
my KAT100, I have never played with the XVTR settings in the SEC menu, and
I don't have my K2 with me right now (I'm at the inlaws this weekend)...
Can the K2 be set up in such a way that when one selects say, the 144Mhz
XVTR band, that it automagicly selects ANT-B output on the KAT100, limits
power to N to the XVTR input, and the power control selects the requested
power output on the XVTR?
I'm just trying to get a handle on how this works. When using one of the
new Elecraft XVTRs with the K2, does the power knob on the K2 tell the
XVTR finals what the requested power is with the K2 driving the XVTR with
a constant level or does the power knob still control the K2 drive with
the XVTR responding in a linear fashion with its output power?
I'm not trying to be difficult or ask too many questions - I just don't
want to cook the input of the XVTR by accidently driving it with 100w out
of my K2/100.
I am sure that this was all addressed in the field-test process (one which
I would have LOVED to have been involved in BTW!!!)... I am just very
currious about how the different options interact with each other.
